The Men Who Would Be Kings: Run the Gauntlet

We played a game of The Men Who Would be Kings today, featuring a force of British infantry and imperial cavalry trying to run a gauntlet of Zulus. I had originally intended to run this game at Millennium Con, but had to cancel my trip, so we played it at Myth Adventures instead.

Pics and a game summary below. Short version: The British lost, badly!

Rommel in 3mm

We played our first proper game of Rommel on Saturday, using a North Africa scenario straight out of the rules. The game is fantastic---there are lots of important decisions for players to make and it rewards careful planning.  We played with my new 3mm WWII stuff, by Oddzial Osmy. The little guys are cheap, a pleasure to paint, and really create that aerial photograph look I was hoping for. More pics after the bump.

The Anglo Zulu War in 1/72nd Plastics

After trying out the fun The Men Who Would Be Kings colonial rules, I've painted up a force of 1/72nd plastic Zulus and British for the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.  More pics after the bump. Thanks for looking!

Orc Assault: pictures of a Dragon Rampant game

I ran a Dragon Rampant game with GW orcs against medieval humans defending a mountain pass.  It was a hard fought game, with the humans repelling multiple orc attacks...until finally the orcs broke through. With a bit of fine tuning, you could get all the GW units into Dragon Rampant with little need for new rules and only a few stat tweaking.  Here are some pictures. The figures are all from my uncle's collection.
